USB to Serial Adapters

Some Marsh-McBirney flowmeters require that the user be able to connect to the product by way of an RS-232 serial connection. Many notebook computers are now being manufactured without serial ports and require a USB-Serial adapter. Unfortunately not all adapters work with all operating systems or Marsh-McBirney products.

The table below shows the results of testing performed by Marsh-McBirney, Inc. on various adapters, operating systems, and Marsh-McBirney products.

* While the Belkin F5U103 is compatible with all operating systems and all MMI products please note that it is a good deal larger than the other tested adapters and users may not find it well suited for field use.

** During our tests communication with Flo-Dar products and adapters under the Windows 2000 operating system consistently failed on first attempt. Second attempts were consistently successful.
