From Student To Professor, Flo-Mate Follows This Professional’s Career

As Jason Julian’s academic career progressed in the environmental field, one thing remained constant–his use of the Flo-Mate Portable Flow Meter. Currently performing postdoctoral research at the University of Maryland’s Center for Environmental Science-Appalachian Laboratory, Julian became familiar with the Flo-Mate during his undergraduate work in the year 2000. Introduced to the meter by his professor at the University of South Carolina, he found the meter to be ideal for the rugged environment where his river flow monitoring discharge work was done. Since his initial introduction to the meter, Julian has used the Flo-Mate to monitor river and stream flow in Maryland, Virginia, Wisconsin, and North and South Carolina.He adds, “I use the meter for different river research applications, specifically discharge measurements and to create velocity profiles in rivers.”
